Safe harbour

For weddings

With social distancing and travel restrictions becoming the norm, we know your wedding will be slightly different to the one you may have planned. The beauty of holding your wedding at Harbour Hotels is our ability to offer an abundance of options. We have plenty of outdoor spaces to help your guests maintain physical distancing as well as large indoor events rooms.

We can assure you that we are currently working extremely hard to enable you to still have your big day with us, feeling assured that we have in place the necessary precautions to keep you and your guests safe, as well as making sure your wedding is a very special one.

*Please note: our processes and precautions will be under constant review, and this guide will be constantly updated to give you the very latest information. We will, of course, always comply with all government regulations - and more.

Here's how we'll keep you safe:

  1. Your Weddings Coordinator will ensure that prior to your big day you have all the information you need to ensure your wedding at Harbour Hotels runs smoothly and you have all the necessary detail to share with your guests.
  2. We have adjusted our room and seating configurations, with multiple options for you to consider to ensure a minimum social distance of 1 meter and 2 meters, where possible, can be maintained at all times. As a result, our event room capacities have reduced in size. For more information on these please speak to your Wedding Coordinator.
  3. We will work closely with you to create a table plan that takes into account the need to keep family groups together and adhere to the guidelines set out by the government.
  4. We will need to ensure social distancing of a minimum of 1 metre is clearly marked out but we will work with you to make sure it is consistent with your wedding theme. Where possible all wedding spaces will have a separate entry and exit.
  5. We will work together with all suppliers, from cake makers, florists, photographers and the like to ensure they adhere to our Covid-19 operating procedures.
  6. On arrival, your guests will be greeted by our team and directed to the appropriate areas.
  7. If you are holding your civil service with us we will work with you and your Registrar to set up the ceremony so we can all adhere to the social distancing guidelines of 1 meter.
  8. We will be offering all of the menus you chose for your big day, unless the numbers have dropped significantly and then we will offer you our private dining menus. We will work closely together with you to make sure they are delivered safely to your guests.
  9. All of our food preparation and service adheres to the government health and safety guidelines.
  10. We will be maximising the space between tables and the use of our outdoor spaces in line with the social distancing guidelines, enabling you and your guests to enjoy a splendid wedding breakfast and reception.
  11. Our event spaces will be thoroughly cleaned prior to your wedding and at agreed times throughout the day. All cleaning will be checked by our management team.
  12. Hand sanitising stations will be set up at the entry and exit points for your guests to use throughout your wedding and should be used every time they enter or exit the event.
  13. If any of your guests are staying overnight with us we recommend they read our Safe Harbour practices for hotel guests. These detail the measures we are taking to protect our guests from check-in to check-out. Click here to read these.
  14. We know that some of your guests from further afield may no longer be able to join you, so in some locations we are able to offer a virtual wedding day package, so no one need miss your big day. Just ask a member of the team for more information.
  15. From the 8th August 2020 and in line with government guidance, it will be mandatory to wear a face coving when moving around our hotel public spaces. Your face covering can be removed when seated in our public spaces and dining, when in your bedroom, in our pools or when using our outdoor spaces.
